Frazier Rehab Hospital
We played a crucial role in the construction of the new 15-floor tower for the Frazier Rehab and Neuroscience Center. They conducted a geotechnical investigation and monitored foundation installation for this state-of-the-art facility. The project involved transforming a five-floor, 95-bed facility into a 15-floor, 135-bed hospital dedicated to rehab medicine, neuroscience, cardiopulmonary medicine, sports medicine, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
Despite the challenges posed by a restricted site and the need to continue hospital operations, We successfully constructed the new building over the existing facility, encapsulating it. This innovative approach involved erecting towers on the north and south ends of the existing structure and adding 10 new stories above it, without relying on the existing structure for support.
The completed building, boasting a gross area of 370,344 square feet, is supported by augercast pile foundations. We conducted extensive pile load tests to ensure the piles' design capacity and meticulously monitored their installation. Their expertise ensured that the piles were of sufficient length, true to vertical, encountered the right soil strata, and had the appropriate grouting to support the weight of the structure.
Not only did We successfully complete the Frazier Rehab and Neuroscience Center, but they also have a strong track record of collaborating with Jewish Hospital on numerous other projects over the years.
